New expansion and reveals from PAX - Live updates
*** NOTE *** I will update this article as more information becomes available, although I believe that is it for today (Friday) ******
Blizzard have officially announced the new 31 card expansion, Blackrock Mountain, for Hearthstone.
Technically it is a solo adventure, not an expansion, in the same way that Curse of Naxxramus was.
The cards will be released in five wings (one per week), again the same as Naxxramus, which quells speculation that they might release everything in one go this time to prevent the metagame being impacted several times in a season.
Blackrock Mountain is the home of many dragons and friends of Ragnaros. This will be reflected in the cards and it seems there will be a dragon tribal theme to some degree - as already seen in the spoiled cards below.
The full set will include 31 cards that are collected by beating a total of 17 bosses across five wings.
Release is "Next month" but if you pre-order on March 19-20 you will get the pre-order cardback pictured here:
The prices will be as follows:
All five wings: £17.49
last four wings: £13.99
last three wings: £10.49
last two wings: £6.99
Individual wings: £4.99 or 700 Gold
Five cards were spoiled, pictured below:
All of the other information points to this functioning in exactly the same way that Curse of Naxxramus did. Of course we get a new game board too. Here's a peek.
